Grilled, marinated beef is cooked until perfectly charred, then served in warm tortillas topped with our tangy and spicy pickled onions for a flavorful and satisfying carne asada taco to make this taco Tuesday!

Ingredients

Makes 6 servings 1x 2x 4x
  • 1 pound flank steak or skirt steak
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 8 corn tortillas grilled
  • Thinly sliced avocado for serving
  • Spicy Pickled Onions for serving
  • Thinly sliced radishes for serving
  • Chopped fresh cilantro for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, dried oregano, salt, pepper, and lime juice.

  2. Place the flank steak or skirt steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the meat, making sure the steak is coated evenly with the marinade. Cover the dish and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, up to overnight.

  3. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat and brush the grates with a oil to prevent sticking.

  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare or adjust the cooking time to your desired doneness. Allow the steak to rest for 5 minutes before slicing or cubing the steak.

  5. To assemble the tacos, place a few slices of avocado, followed by the carne asada on each tortilla. Top with Mezzetta® Spicy Pickled Onions, sliced radishes and chopped fresh cilantro.

  6. Enjoy!
