If you’re looking for an easy and engaging Earth Day activity, look no further than your pantry shelves and our signature glass jars. There are so many ways to reuse our jars for everyday needs—and our water-soluble labels rinse off easily and make repurposing them a breeze.

Our products come in several sizes, so chances are, you’ll have some jars to reuse that meet your project needs. Here are just a few ideas for reusing our jars, after you’ve enjoyed their contents, of course!

  • Pot various herbs and keep in your kitchen for easy access.
    • With solid construction, our jars make great containers for a little countertop garden. Plant your favorite or most-used fresh herbs, and you’ll have them on hand for whatever you’re cooking up next!
  • Use empty jars as a vase to place on any counter surface.
    • Our jars are a great size for flower cuttings straight from your garden.
  • Store dried ingredients in your pantry, including flour, rice, pasta or spices.
    • Keep pantry pests at bay by keeping staples in these airtight jars. Also, add your own label for finding ingredients with ease. An added bonus: our jars all have red lids—so using them to help organize your pantry will keep things looking tidy with one color scheme.

Mezzetta jars with oats

  • Use the jars to make overnight oats in your fridge.
    • Most recipes call for a mix of dairy/nut milk, oats, yogurt, chia seeds and fruit—stirred together in a jar and refrigerated overnight or for at least 5 hours. An added bonus: making overnight oats in our jars makes them portable for a grab-and-go breakfast!
  • Add some water to the bottom of a clean jar and you can store herbs such as parsley or green onion in the fridge.
    • For best results, clip off the bottom of the stems, remove any wilted or brown leaves, and store them upright—just as you would a bunch of flowers. There should be about an inch of water at the bottom of the jar, and you can put on the lid if you’re using a taller jar or want the fresh herbs enclosed.
  • Simply use the jars as everyday glassware.
    • Our tall glasses make great glasses to keep you hydrated!

Mezzeta jars with straws

  • Use as a cocktail shaker.
    • Shake with the lid on and then pour into your glass of choice (or serve in the glass jar itself for a farmhouse look).
  • You can use the jar for office accessories.
    • Our jars work great as a pen or pencil holder, and for storing paper clips, push pins and other small desk supplies.
  • Bathroom storage.
    • Use our jars to store and display cotton balls, cotton swabs, makeup brushes, lipsticks, toothpaste and toothbrush.
  • Make homemade pickled veggies.
    • Quick-pickle cucumbers, carrots, onions, cabbage, cauliflower and radishes—and enjoy for 2-3 weeks from the refrigerator.
  • Piggy bank for your young ones.
    • Easily see their coins as they add up!

Mezzetta jars as a money jar

  • Make a homemade candle.
    • You can make your own homemade jar candles in minutes by using a few shortcuts, including melting the wax in the microwave and pouring into our jars.
  • Replace plastic Tupperware with the jars.
    • Use in your refrigerator to store leftovers. They also work great for food prep! Wash and cut fresh fruits and vegetables, then store them in our jars for quick snacks that are ready to eat.

As you can see, the options are endless and limited only by your imagination. When reusing multiple jars in your home, sticking with the Mezzetta jars will help you achieve a neater, more uniform look (instead of using various sizes and styles of glass jars). Enjoy all your Mezzetta favorites, and then another use for the jar is just one dishwashing away.

And lastly, if you don’t want to reuse them, make sure you recycle them!
