ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. Mezzetta® Hot Chili Peppers (dried)
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. cream
  • 1/2 c Kahlua (optional)
  • 5oz. dark chocolate

preparation

To dry the peppers, slice them and place into a low temperature oven, 250-degrees, for 45 minutes.

Cool the peppers and grind into a powder using a coffee grinder or spice mill.

Split vanilla bean and scoop out the insides and add to medium sauce pan.

Add the sugar, peppers, cocoa and cinnamon.  Heat the milk, cream and Kahlua with the sugar and spice mixture.

Once boiling add the chocolate.  Whisk until smooth.  Strain and serve with marshmallows.
