- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 lbs Italian sausage
- 4 onions, peeled and sliced into 1/4" slices
- 1 (16.25 oz) jar Mezzetta® Regional Recipes Whole Garlic & Sweet Basil Marinara
- 1 cup Mezzetta® Roasted Red Bell Pepper Strips
- Optional - 1/3 cup Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Cherry Peppers
- 1/4 cup Mezzetta® Golden Greek Peperoncini, sliced
Place the olive oil in a large skillet over a high heat and brown the sausage on each side. Place the sausage in a crockpot.
Add the onions, Mezzetta® Regional Recipes Whole Garlic & Sweet Basil Marinara, Mezzetta® Sliced Roasted Red Bell Pepper Strips, optional Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Cherry Peppers and Mezzetta® Golden Greek Peperoncini. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
Sausage and peppers can be served in hoagie rolls, or can be served over rice or pasta.
